Located on Oahu, Jocko’s is a more relaxed, yet still high performance left hand reef break. The wave typically starts with an easy take off and bottom turn into a long wall and goes into a tube section for up to 100 meters. It is a long paddle and there are strong currents, so being confident in your abilities are crucial, especially as the size increases.
What are the best surf conditions for Jocko’s?
Gets good between head high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard then step up here as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and will always have a crew on it (7/10). The best winds are from the Southeast. The best swells are from the North and Northwest. Works on all tides but low to mid are best for barrels.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year round as water temperatures range between 27 and 24. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
