A fantastic wave, but only available to you if you happen to be staying on the island. Namotu itself is a quality wave, boast passage from the resort straight into the line-up makes every session a pleasure, remember to kick off at the end of your ride, don’t fall into the trap of going for that final barrel section – no one gets out of it.
Located off the island of Namotu, Mamanucas and Viti Levu, Fiji. Namotu Lefts is an excellent wave reef break breaking over a coral bottom.
Its a fun wave that can break for up to 200 meters, some sections barrel but there’s also plenty of room for manoeuvres!
What are Namotu Lefts’s best surf conditions?
The best wave size is overhead to double overhead. We recommend riding your longboard, standard shortboard or step up when it’s bigger here. Namotu Lefts is best suited to intermediate to advanced surfers. The best winds for Namotu Lefts are Northeast. The best swell direction is from the Southwest.
Surfing here in summer we recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini, plus a wetsuit top in stronger winds. The warmest water temperature is a warm 27 degrees in February and in winter it’s 24 degrees we recommend wearing something similar; boardshorts, or a bikini, plus a wetsuit top.
