Located in Kadavu Passage, Fiji, Bula Bowls is a fun left hand reef set up that offers up a rippable wall most of the time. On big swells another heavier wide peak starts firing, which swings into the breaks at the end of the first section and can offer up back-door barrels and big carves for the experienced.. The waves here are not always easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a coral reef.
What are the best surf conditions for Bula Bowls?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard then step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will generally be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the North. The best swells are from the South, Southeast, and Southwest. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini all year. Water temperatures stick between 27 and 24. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
