Star Koat is a traditional wooden boat from Sibolga Port, well known for superior construction in West Sumatra, Indonesia. Koat means “wave” in the local language, Bahasa. At 23 meters (76ft) the vessel is spacious and comfortable for groups of up to 12 guests. Custom built for surf charter, the Star Koat is an awesome choice for surfers on a medium budget. You are in safe and knowledgable hands with the crew whose sole objective is bringing you to some of the most perfect, uncrowded waves on the planet. Plus, of course, the Star Koat owners are surfers too, with plenty local experience scoring dream surf.
Accommodations are in five cabins made up of four doubles and one cabin with 4 beds. All cabins are air-conditioned and spacious. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor space for to chill out after epic surf sessions. The service is friendly and complete on board the Star Koat. The three meals are prepared with both local Indonesian style cuisine, fresh caught fish, and western menu items as well. Snacks are available throughout the day, and you won’t go thristy either. Always in reach are water, sodas, fresh juice, coffee & tea, and your charters allotment of 15 cartons if Bintang beer.
There are two supporting smaller vessels; a 12-foot rubber dingy, 15HP engine and a 18-foot aluminium speedboat with 115HP engine.These are there for your safety, as well as for beach trips, island exploration, fishing, and getting to spots ahead of the Star Koat, maximizing your surf time. When not surfing there is fishing and snorkeling geat to use as you please.
