Located in Roti, Indonesia, T-Land is an excellent left hand reef break that is one of the longest waves in the world on its day. It alternates between barreling sections and performance walls, breaking for up to 400 meters over a (not sharp!) coral reef. This spot is almost always breaking, it is a big swell magnet. There are four distinct take off sections: The Point, The Steeple, Magic Mountain, and Inner-tubes. Each have their own flavor.
What are the best surf conditions for T-Land?
Gets good between waist high and overhead. When smaller it tends to be a shorter wave and once it gets overhead it begins to get heavy. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard then step up as the size begins to increase. This spot is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and will get busy at times (5/10). The best winds are from the East or Southeast which are necessary to make the wave hollow. The best swells are from the South and Southwest. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year round. Water temperatures range from 28 to 25 year round. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
