Located in the Bukit Peninsula, Indonesia, Bingin is an excellent, mechanical left hand reef break that offers up a very user friendly barrel mixed in with rippable walls. The waves here can be a bit heavy and break for up to 50 meters over a coral reef. The locals here have the wave dialed, be respectful and don’t take off inside of them. The take off zone is quite tight, so it might be a little tense in the line up.
What are the best surf conditions for Bingin?
Gets good between chest high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard then step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and will get ridiculously crowded (9/10). The best winds are from the South or Southwest. The best swells are from the Southeast. Works on a mid to low tide best. Will work on higher tides but not dead high.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year round. Water temperatures range from 29 to 25 year round. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
