Located in the Maldives, Indonesia, Yin Yang is a quality right hander that offers up a long performance wall on the outside before throwing out multiple barrels on the inside. The waves here get heavy and break for up to 200 meters over a shallow coral reef. The inside section can get a bit hairy, so know your limits.
What are the best surf conditions for Yin Yang?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard then step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will generally be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the West quadrant. The outside section prefers NW winds and the inside section like a SW wind, look and pick for yourself when you’re there. The best swells are from the South, Southeast, and Southwest. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year round. Water temperatures range from 29 to 25. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
