Located in the Maldives and considered among the best breaks in the Maldives is Pasta Point. The 100 yard left typically breaks in the 4-6 feet range, but is perfect from 1-2ft to double overhead. It is less affected by wind than the other spots, and is as consistent as any spot in the Maldives, being well exposed to open ocean. Pasta Point has three sections. The initial takeoff section leads to the Macaroni Bowl, which spits you out for a cutback or off-the-lip, before the fast and shallow end section called Lockjaws. The only catch is that the break is claimed for exclusive access by the Cinnamon Dhonveli Resort in front of the break. They limit the islands surfer capacity to 30 at any one time.
What are the best surf conditions for Pasta Point?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller then a shortboard or step up as the size increases. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and will generally be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the West. The best swells are from the East or Southeast. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year round as water temperatures fluctuate between 29 and 27. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
