Located on the Great Ocean Road a little west of the town of Princetown, Princetown is a fun beach break over a sandy bottom. Come prepared, these waves require commitment, skill, and can break for up to 100 meters, providing heavy sections for manoeuvres. Access is difficult, bring a 4X4, and know what you are doing as help could be farther away than needed.
What are the best surf conditions for Princetown?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead, anything more and the shape tends to degrade. We recommend riding your longboard, standard shortboard, or step up when bigger here. Princetown is best suited to intermediate to advanced surfers. The surf here almost always provides (9/10) and can get busy at peak times, although you should be able to find uncrowded banks (5/10). The best winds for Princetown are Northeast, and the best tide depends on the sandbars. The best swell direction is from the Southwest.
