Located in Great Ocean Road, Victoria, Apollo Bay is a small and beautiful tourist town with a few waves. The most prominent is a fun right hander that breaks off of a jetty over rock and sand. The waves here are not too tricky, and can peel nicely for up to 100 meters.
Gets good between waist-high to double overhead. We recommend riding your longboard or standard shortboard here. This break is best suited to intermediate to advanced surfers. The wave is semi-consistent (5/10) but can also get busy on weekends and holidays (5/10). The best winds for Apollo Bay are west. The best swell direction is from the South, Southeast and Southwest. It works best if there is a little East in the swell. Watch for More...
