South Steyne is the name given to the south end of Manly Beach near the southern most stormwater drain. Waves here can get classic in large summer NE swells providing good to epic conditions providing A-frame peaks, and crazy left/right grinding barrels The only break further south from here is Manly in the far corner.
The best wave size is between waist-high to triple overhead. We recommend riding your longboard, standard shortboard or fish. South Steyne (Manly Beach) on Sydney Northern Beaches is best suited to beginner to advanced surfers, it usually has a wave (5/10) and can get very crowded (8/10).
